A steel X-frame under a clean worktop

Underneath the wood-grain board top is a powder-coated steel X-lift frame — the reason the surface stays steady whether you type sitting down or lean on it standing up.

Powder-coated steel frame

The X-lift structure is steel with a powder-coated finish, built to stay stable when fully loaded.

Wood-grain board worktop

A smooth, full-width board top that suits the desk it sits on instead of fighting it.

Gas-assisted height adjustment

The squeeze-to-lift mechanism raises and lowers the loaded top smoothly, without jolts or effort.

Honest Fit Check

This desk isn't right for everyone

We'd rather you buy the right thing than the most expensive thing. A few cases where this might not be your best match:

Measure your space first

At full size the top is 48 × 24 inches. Check it fits your room and that the height range suits both your seated and standing posture before you order.

It holds up to 220 lb of gear

That covers a typical monitor, laptop, and desk setup. A heavy multi-monitor rig near the limit is worth weighing against the rated load.

It needs a short assembly

The frame and top ship flat and bolt together in about 20 minutes with the included hardware — not ready out of the box.

Still not sure? With 60-day money-back guarantee — we pay return shipping, there's no risk in trying it at your own desk — if it doesn't fit your setup, send it back.

Perfect for my tiny apartment desk

My apartment in Brooklyn doesn't have room for a separate standing desk, so this converter sits on top of my regular one and gets pushed back against the wall when I'm not using it. It only weighs enough that I can lift the whole desk configuration when I need to rearrange the room, and raising it takes one hand, no cranking. I do wish the base had a slightly smaller footprint since it eats into my keyboard space a little at the lowest setting. Two weeks in, I've already noticed I stand for at least half my work day now.

Shared desk, happy household

My partner and I share one desk in a small apartment, and this solved more arguments than I expected. He likes standing in the morning, I sit and sketch in the afternoon with it folded completely flat. Changing over takes seconds with the squeeze handle. The X-frame keeps the monitor steady while typing at standing height, which I had read mixed things about with cheaper risers. Good weight to it — it feels planted, not flimsy.

Finally standing for afternoon calls

I set this on my existing desk with a 27-inch monitor, keyboard and mouse all on the top, and everything goes up together in one motion. The squeeze lever with the gas assist is smoother than I expected — no cranking, no wrestling. I stand for afternoon video calls now and sit for deep work in the morning. My old desk stayed exactly where it was, which is really the whole point. Zero regrets so far.

Works well, but measure your desk first

The mechanism itself is good — smooth lift, feels sturdy, no assembly. My issues are about fit. On my fairly small desk the top takes over most of the surface, so there's not much room left beside it. And because the keyboard sits on the same single surface as the monitor, I personally would have preferred a lower keyboard tier. If you have a decently sized desk and like the one-surface layout, you'll probably rate it higher than I do.

Dual monitor setup rises together, no wobble

I run two 24 inch monitors plus a laptop stand on top of this riser and was worried about the weight, but it lifts smoothly every time with barely any push needed. Standing through my daily stand-up calls has actually helped my afternoon energy crash, which I didn't expect from just changing posture. Assembly took about fifteen minutes with the included tool. The only thing I'd flag is the keyboard tray sits a touch low for my wrists when standing, so I added a slim pad. Four months of daily use and the gas lift hasn't lost any strength.

Great riser, just don't plan on carrying it around

Does exactly what it promises — sits on my desk, lifts smoothly, folds flat when I want the desk back. The wood-grain top looks nicer in person than in the photos. One star off because it's a heavy thing; I tried moving it between the study and the kitchen table once and won't be doing that regularly. If it lives on one desk, which is really how it's meant to be used, it's brilliant.

Work standing, game sitting

My desk does double duty — spreadsheets during the day, games at night. I stand for a good chunk of the workday now and drop it flat in the evening for long sessions in the chair. The single full-width surface means the mouse never gets stranded at a different level, which was my worry with the two-tier risers. Lift is smooth even with everything loaded on it. Six weeks in, no creaks, no drama.

My physio recommended alternating positions, this made it possible

I've had recurring lower back pain for years and my physiotherapist kept telling me to break up long sitting stretches at work. I didn't want to buy a whole new desk, so this riser seemed like the easiest fix, and it has genuinely changed my day. I switch to standing for an hour most mornings and again after lunch, and my evening stiffness has noticeably eased. Setting it up took no tools at all, which surprised me. The surface does flex very slightly under my monitor's full weight when raised to the highest setting, but it's never felt unsafe.

Solid engineering, no assembly

I was skeptical about riser constructions, but this one is properly made. One squeezes the lever and the surface rises with very little effort, even with my monitor and keyboard fully loaded. The powder-coated X-frame does not flex when I lean on the edge. It arrived ready to use — I only lifted it from the carton onto the desk. After four months of daily office use I can say the mechanism still works exactly as on day one.

Good bit of kit, tall folks take note

Sturdy, smooth, and honestly quite satisfying to use — squeeze, lift, done. I'm 193 cm and at full extension it lands at just about the right height for me, but only just, so anyone taller might want to measure their setup first. Mostly I use it for the second half of the work day when sitting gets old. Held my monitor and a laptop without complaint. Would buy again, hence four stars rather than three.
